05-15-18, 1-2 PM: Tuesday Forum – Metaphysically Speaking.

The next edition of Metaphysically Speaking will be an encore presentation of the January 2018 show. The show features a conversation with Tonya Henderson as she discusses her life as a visionary artist. She also touches upon her role as a life coach and healer. It's a fascinating interview that you will want to hear again. That's Metaphysically Speaking May 15th at 1 p.m. with Tonya and host Mike Holloway.

05-01-18: 1 - 2 PM: Tuesday Forum. We Are Not Alone.

Dr. Barry Downing is a Presbyterian minister and author of the 1968 book The Bible and Flying Saucers in which he claims UFO phenomena are responsible for many of the events in the Bible. His most recent book is "Biblical UFO Revelations" (published in 2017). Rev. Downing is also a proponent of the ancient astronaut theory and has appeared on several of History Channel’s Ancient Alien series. Downing holds a PhD in the relation between religion and science from the University of Edinburgh of Scotland.

04-17-18, 1-2 PM: Tuesday Forum – Metaphysically Speaking.

Veterinarian Dr. Eva Groesbeck, who specializes in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for pets, is the next guest on Metaphysically Speaking Tuesday April 17th at 1 p.m. Join Dr. Groesbeck and host Mike Holloway as they discuss the use and practice of acupuncture in treating animals. Dr. Groesbeck also talks about combining western and eastern medicines and philosophies in treating pets as the wave of the future. It's a wide ranging interview covering several pet modalities that is absolutely fascinating! You will not want to miss it!

WHFR Spring Blues Fundraiser at the New Place Lounge Saturday April 14 from 8pm-Midnight

WHFR is happy to have another one of our annual Spring Fundraisers at the New Place Lounge. This year we will be featuring the local blues music of Maggie McCabe & Howard Glazer, Nick Tabarias & the All Stars, and Big B and the Actual Proof. Come out to the New Place Lounge located in West Dearborn at 22723 Michigan Ave. Only a $5 donation at the door. In addition to the great live music, we will have WHFR Merchandise for sale, we will be giving away door prizes and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Radiothon 2018 - Live Music in the Studio: LIVE FROM STUDIO J week and DETROIT JAZZ Live Jazz Jam Session

This week we have featured several great live musicians as part of a special Radiothon 2018 weeklong version of LIVE FROM STUDIO J. We have heard singer/songwriter Scott Fab, Delta Blues from The Blues Preacher, classic rock from Face2Face, and Jazz from Planet D Nonet. But there still more great LIVE FROM STUDIO J artists to check out this week: Thursday at 5pm during LIVE FROM FROM STUDIO J the indie rock sounds of Kimball, Friday at 5pm during GO WITH THE FLOW is the Rockin' blues of Bull Halsey and on Saturday at 5pm during DINNER WITH CHELSEA will be the punk rock sounds of The Zotz (who also happen to be on our upcoming MOTOR CITY GEMS Indie Rock LP).

Also, for the first time we will be featuring a Studio J Jazz Jam Session as part of the DETROIT JAZZ segment of JAZZ HORIZONS between 8pm-Midnight. You will hear from Jazz Vocals Chelly K and Robert McCarther, Keyboard players Gerard Gibbs and Rick Jones along with Deblond Jackson, the sound of John Douglas and his Quartet, Alexis Lombre, and Trunino Lowe Friends. In addition to this Studio Jam Session, there will be interviews, and recorded sessions from Otus Supply and Bert's Market Place. Make sure you check out DETROIT JAZZ from 8pm to Midnights hosted by Earl Jones.

04-03-18: 1 - 2 PM: Tuesday Forum. We Are Not Alone.

Jan Harzen is the International Executive Director for MUFON. His interest in UFOs was sparked by his own sighting in 1965. Today Jan and host David Twichell will discuss the Pentagon’s admission that they have been studying the UFO problem ever since they claimed to have stopped doing so in 1969. 3-27-18, 1-2 PM: Tuesday Forum – IMPACT

H.O.P.E. programs are injecting, vitality and synergy into the lives of many underserved people. H.O.P.E. stands for “Helping Operations for People Empowerment”. The campus headquarter is at 6125 Beechwood St. Detroit, MI 48210. Programs offered at the campus include support and resources for parents, parenting classes for young mothers, job training, mentoring and employment counseling for ex-offenders. Through special partnerships, H.O.P.E. offers tutorial assistance for school-aged youth and a wide range of medical and dental services for needy Detroit residents.

3-20-18, 1-2 PM: Tuesday Forum – Metaphysically Speaking.

Rael Vera Joy Hava is the special guest on the March edition of "Metaphysically Speaking". She is a Doctor of Divinity, who is the founder of Joy Harmonics. She specializes in weaving light, color and sound throughout the body. Show host, Mike Holloway, and Rael discuss the use of tuning fork vibrations and sounds to bring a body and soul into harmony. It's a riveting and fascinating interview filled with plenty of "good vibrations". That's "Metaphysically Speaking" Tuesday March 20th at 1 p.m.

3-13-18, 1-2 PM: Tuesday Forum – IMPACT!

The Women’s Marines Association is a non-profit association of women who have served honorably in the United States Marine Corps regular or reserve components. Working to uphold the memory of those who’ve gone before and serve today, they also serve their local community. The new president of the Motor City chapter, Sgt. Rose Muth speaks about that service and their upcoming charity golf outing in honor of Maj. Megan McClung, USNA ’95.

“The Secret Society Of Twisted Storytellers ((TSSOTS) is a licensed production of The Society for the Re-Institutionalization of Storytelling, a Michigan 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. Reflexologist Susan Elliker is the "sole" special guest on Metaphysically Speaking this month. Be sure to join Susan and host Mike Holloway as they discuss this therapeutic treatment of the human feet. Susan relates how she got interested in Reflexology, how she was trained and why it can be beneficial to others. Susan also explains and describes how certain areas of the feet correspond to different parts and organs of the body. She truly believes in Reflexology. Be sure to tune in for this scintillatingly fascinating interview.

NEW WHFR JOURNAL For Friday Feb 9 Rescheduled for 1pm Tuesday Feb 13 DUE to HFC Snow Day

The NEW WHFR JOURNAL regularly scheduled for Friday Feb 9 will be broadcast on Tuesday Feb 13 at 1pm during the Tuesday Forum show. This is due to HFC’s campus closure due to the Winter Storm Feb 9th. Please enjoy Classical Music all day on Friday Feb 9. The NEW WHFR JOURNAL can be heard on Fridays from 1pm-2pm and via podcast at whfr.fm. The WHFR Tuesday Forum has a different show each Tuesday at 1pm. Make sure you check out this website regularly for programming updates.

02-06-18: 1 - 2 PM: Tuesday Forum. We Are Not Alone.

Stephen Bassett joins host David Twichell at 1 PM Tuesday, February 6. Mr. Bassett is the executive director of Paradigm Research Group (PRG) founded in 1996 to end a government imposed embargo behind extraterrestrial related phenomena. In 2013 PRG produced the "Citizen Hearing on Disclosure" at the National Press Club in Washington. In November of 2014 PRG launched two political initiatives in Washington, DC.
