WHFR-FM began regular broadcasting on Dec. 20, 1985. Now streaming on the internet, accessible to computers and smartphones everywhere, with many shows archived regularly to our website, WHFR is a miracle of local involvement, initiative, and service.

I remember that first day at the transmitter atop the Liberal Arts Building at HFCC when we flipped the switch on: just as snowy and cold as today--but we could feel the excitement beginning. Thanks to all our loyal listeners and community supporters along the way!

Let's celebrate Christmas and Zappa's birthday with four hours of his music, Tuesday December 21 on the Spirits Rejoice program from 6-10pm.
