25 YEARS!--Happy Birthday WHFR!

WHFR-FM began regular broadcasting on Dec. 20, 1985. Now streaming on the internet, accessible to computers and smartphones everywhere, with many shows archived regularly to our website, WHFR is a miracle of local involvement, initiative, and service.

I remember that first day at the transmitter atop the Liberal Arts Building at HFCC when we flipped the switch on: just as snowy and cold as today--but we could feel the excitement beginning. Thanks to all our loyal listeners and community supporters along the way!

Jay Korinek, WHFR Station Advisor (1976 to present)
