WHFR PRESENTS: T-Bone Burnett Spotlight

Bill Keith will spotlight the music and production work of acclaimed producer, T-Bone Burnett this Sunday on WHFR Presents.  T-Bone drew early attention as a member of Bob Dylan's "Rolling Thunder Revue" in the mid '70s.  He joined forces with Rolling Thunder Revue alums David Mansfield and Steven Sole in the Alpha Band in the late '70s, and then went on to his solo career.  His earliest production work included his own recordings and albums from Delbert McClinton.  He became a highly sought after producer in the '80s and '90s.  Bill will share highlights f

Join us on The WHFR Journal, Friday, Sept. 26 at 1pm as we chat with the City of Dearborn's Behavioral Health Manager about mental health resources available in our community. We'll also talk with friends from Southgate Community Players about their upcoming production of The Crucible. WHFR Journal Special - A Conversation on Suicide Prevention -- Friday at 1pm

Join us for this special hour during Suicide Prevention Month as we share the PRX special Coping 101. Seattle-area high school senior Luz sits down with Megan Reibel from Forefront Suicide Prevention to candidly destigmatize the conversation around suicide. This important show shares perspectives for teens and others and provides current info on the truths and myths around taking about suicide. Please join us for this important hour only on WHFR-FM.

The WHFR Record Show is THIS SATURDAY!

The 2025 WHFR Record Show will feature thousands of records, CDs, DVDs, videos, cassettes, books, posters, print-work, clothing, artwork, and other forms of music, movie and pop-culture memorabilia for sale by independent, local, and out-of-state vendors, selling everything from rare independent releases to highly sought-after collectable titles.

The admission fee is actually a donation to our non-profit, volunteer-run radio station!

Join us tomorrow (9/12) at 1pm for the WHFR Journal, our local news, views, and community events program as we chat with Alyx Newton, Development Director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, regarding the organization's upcoming Toasting Hope event to raise funds and awareness in support of persons with Epilepsy and their families. We'll also chat with Cory Keller from Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit about the upcoming annual Black Tie and Tails Gala here in Dearborn to support the cause of animal adoptions in our community. Success! Our new WHFR website has launched. While the site will be a bit of a work in progress as we move through this first launch phase, this new version keeps all of the features you know and love and adds new features like full site searches and improved accessibility. Thanks to Micah Webner, Brandi Jackson, Jacob Krogol, and the entire HFC Web Team for their hard work and commitment to this project. What a wonderful way to celebrate WHFR's 40th birthday year!

One of the greatest on tenor saxophone, SONNY ROLLINS, celebrates his 95th birthday this SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 7. WHFR PRESENTS will feature the music of Sonny Rollins from his prolific period of time covering 1951-1967.

Tune in for legendary dates led by Sonny during this time period as well as his work with Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Max Roach, Dizzy Gillespie and legendary two tenor collaborations with John Coltrane, Coleman Hawkins and Sonny Stitt.
