Andre Archer
Singer/ Songwriter/ Radio & Television Producer, Andre Archer was born and raised in Detroit, MI into a musical family, where everyone sang or played an instrument. Andre grew up singing with his siblings, traveling from church to church. He sang with The Allegros under the Late Rev. Charles Nicks, Jr. and has shared the stage with such gospel giants as James Cleveland, Walter & Edwin Hawkins, Marvin & Vickie Winans. Yet, Andre remains humble and serves as Minister of Music at First United Church. Andre can be heard every Tuesday afternoon as the host of “Strictly Gospel” on 89.3FM, WHFR. Andre is the founder of City on Fire Ministries, a non-profit that reaches out to at-risk youths through the performing arts.

Having firsthand experience in being a victim of child abuse and years of substance abuse and homelessness, Andre’ has no problems sharing his experiences, his hopes, and his prayers through his writings and his ministry of music.

Strictly Gospel

"Strictly Gospel" with Andy Parks is a show that promotes independent gospel artists that present the gospel in a variety of musical styles. We have Neo-Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop as well as the more popular Traditional, Praise and Worship and Contemporary styles to create an eclectic mix that everyone could enjoy.

Andre ( Andy Parks) Archer, the show's host, has been at WHFR for 13 years. He appeared in the movie,"Welcome To Faithtown ( Real Love)" in 2018. He was 2020's Gospel Music Choice Awards' Lifetime Achievement Award recipient as well as the 2020 Gospel Artists Music Association's Excellence Award recipient.
