Songwriter's Symposium

Genre:
Exploring modern singers and the songs they craft.

Songwriter's Symposium is a music program dedicated to the modern singer/songwriter. There are professional songwriters that make a living writing songs for other people and there are many artists that perform the music of these songwriters but are not involved in the process of crafting songs. The goal of my show is to find and play music from artists that are currently active in the music scene that both craft and perform their own songs. These artists are typically found in the musical genres of folk, country, americana, and indie. While not everything I play needs to be a lyrical literary work of genius, I am keen on finding those gems that are able to lyrically tell a compelling story while musically inducing the listener to feel that story on an emotional level. Songwriter's Symposium is also a show dedicated to giving local singer/songwriters the airplay they need and deserve as well as supporting local live music.
