Sun Ra was a prolific jazz composer, band leader, piano and synthesizer player in addition to his role as cosmic philosopher. The Broadway musical featured this week on Big Band, Broadway, and Beyond is the musical MAMMA MIA! This musical features songs made famous by the Swedish pop group ABBA. MAMMA MIA! debut in London's West End in 1999 and on Broadway in 2001 and was adapted into a film in 2008 starring Meryl Streep.
