3rd Annual WHFR "Festival Of Enlightenment Holistic Fair" This Saturday March 26 11-5

Make sure you stop WHFR's "Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair" this Saturday at the Student and Culinary Arts Center on the main campus of Henry Ford Community College. The Holistic Fair will take place from 11am - 5pm with the cost of admission only $5 or FREE with a student id. There will be a variety of vendors, readers and body workers along with enlightening speakers on a variety of subjects like dreams, intuition, sexual health and more. Ryan Allen on the Left of the Dial Program Tuesday March 22

Make sure you listen to the Left of the Dial program from 10am-Noon Tuesday March 22 and hear Alex talk to Ryan Allen about his latest project and newest album "Ryan Allen and His Extra Arms." Alex will be playing selections from the new album and maybe playing some selections from Allen's former bands Thunderbirds Are Now and The Friendly Foes. Allen might even play a few songs live in the studio. So make sure you tune in Tuesday from 10am-Noon!

Today (March 14 2011) on the Wrekking Hours the Gothabillie Man is joined by special guest performer "Cash O'Riley & the Down Rite Daddies"

Hailing from "Prison City", Jackson Michigan, Cash O'Riley and the DownRight Daddies became a musical excursion in the fall of 2000. Soon after they joined the FM airwaves on WHFR as one of the first live performers featured on the Wrekking Hours.

Now a decade later the Down Rite Daddies have changed and aged to perfection as one of America's hardest working road bands, sharing the stage with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson, The Reverend Horton Heat, Big Sandy and His Flyrite Boys, Gene Summers, Glen Glenn, Chuck Berry and many more.

Our 200th show of "Motor Live Drive @ 5", Thursday, 5-6pm, March 10th!

This week marks our 200th "Motor Live Drive @ 5" with Carnival Girl featuring veteran rockers Serana Verlin and Gary Adams. WHFR started the "Motor Live Drive @ 5" in January 2007 and have had a live band in the studio almost every week since. Currently, hosted by Mr. White, Margaret, and sound engineer Alan Contino it's been a welcomed challenge to bring in the best music in town and have it ready for broadcast at 5 pm every Thursday. With all the great Motor City musicians it has been gratifying to give them a live opportunity to showcase their talent over the air!

WHFR-FM and the Metaphysically Speaking radio show are proud to present our third "Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair," Saturday March 26 from 11:00am - 5:00pm. This year's event features several exciting changes, among them: an earlier date, a brand new location on HFCC's campus (The Student and Culinary Arts Center), and live music to set the mood! All students with a valid school I.D. card will be admitted for free!

CLIFFORD CLIFT will guest on "We Are Not Alone" 1 - 2 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Clifford Clift is the new International Director of the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON. MUFON is the largest civilian UFO investigative organization in the world, dedicated to the scientific study of the UFO phenomenon. After retiring as a successful businessman in Colorado, Cliff joined MUFON and soon became a board member. He has been instrumental in helping the organization in its everyday function for the past several years. Clifford recounts his own personal UFO sighting and shares some compelling recent accounts from around the country.

Dearborn's "State of the City" speech to be presented during Friday's "Journal (2-25)," 1-2 PM

Dearborn Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr. gave this year's "State of the City" speech on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011. This week's "Journal" will include a recording of the entire 26 minute address.

The 14th Annual broadcast for the "Homelessness Marathon" will be from Kansas City, Missouri, and will feature the voices and stories of homelessness people and concerned activists.
