WHFR Loses a Dear Family Member

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that our own WHFR DJ and long time host of "No Boys Aloud", former Program Director, and coordinator of the annual Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair Lynn Grunst passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 12th after a brief illness. We are deeply shocked and saddened at this terrible loss to not only our WHFR family, but to the community and our world at large.

WHFR's 2nd Indie Rock Vinyl Compilation Benefit Concert at PJ's Lager House Saturday Dec 9 from 8pm-1am

Come down the PJ's Lager House and enjoy some of the best bands the Detroit area has to offer and help support college/community radio. Performing that night are: The Zotz!, The Seatbelts, Chosen By Fate, Micah Schnabel, Kenny Hill Group, and Stirling and Friends.

Cost is a $10 Donation. All proceeds will be used for the vinyl pressing of our 1st Indie Rock Compilation coming out in Spring of 2018. There will be a RAFFLE for WHFR Merch PLUS 1st prize is a copy of the release when it comes out. Also, Those that attend can preorder a copy for $2 off the $11 retail price.

12-05-17, 1 - 2 PM: Tuesday Forum. We Are Not Alone.

Our guest today is the honorable Paul Hellyer, former minister of defense for Canada in the 1960s. Mr. Hellyer was the first person of Cabinet rank to make the statement “UFOs are as real as the airplanes over head.” He has written several books, mostly of a political and financial nature, however his latest two books are “The Money Mafia: A World in Crisis” and “Light at the End of the Tunnel: A Survival Plan for the Human Species” both dealing with UFOs and extraterrestrial species.

In 2015 Paster Fran Hayes and other’s in the faith community determined to reinvent themselves. The Dearborn Area Interfaith Network emerged. Their Mission “ Building bridges for the sake of loving neighbors.“ At the time the group drew in a broad cross-section of Dearborn’s faith communities, including representatives of many Abrahamic and animist traditions. Tune in to IMPACT to hear where the organization is today with achieving their mission.

Henry Ford College independent, non-commercial, non-profit WHFR
radio with the Detroit Blues Society present the Fall 2017 Fundraiser,
‘Allstar Blues Jam III’, at the New Place Lounge on Saturday, November
11th, 9pm until Midnight. Little Arthur Anderson on vocals and harp,
Erich Goebel on guitar, Sir Tim Duvalier on bass, and Popa Lee on
drums are hosts for this celebrity jam to raise funds to benefit WHFR.

$5 donation entry fee, for adults (21 and over), with 100% of
proceeds collected from door, 50-50 raffle, WHFR logo item and CD

The Michigan War Dog Memorial is a place of honor for those canine heroes who saved tens of thousands of lives since WWI. Learn about these four-legged heroes on the next edition of IMPACT! Alex Guevara has an MBA in Business from Michigan State University and has been working in the medical industry for 30+ years. In 2011, after hearing a story of a UFO sighting from his father, he began to seriously investigate the UFO phenomenon. He has spent the last 6 years scouring the internet looking for the best available high level witness testimony and official documented evidence. Over the past 3 years, Alex has been writing E Books on the UFO topic.
