Host Ned Apigian, Dearborn Heights councilperson, welcomes the new Dearborn Heights Fire Chief, David Brogan, to provide a complete, in-depth picture of this vital public service.
Great original rock from up & comers Oak Bones. They're rocking, a bit country, even funky. Best of all they were on Motor!

Originally broadcast live on WHFR on Feb. 26--but you may have missed it, so here it is again. With the Tribute, it runs just over 28 minutes so we will start the show with it, then go on to our coverage of other local news of the week.
Mix a little Motown soul, some blues and classic rock, serve in an old-fashioned glass, and you've got Jackie Stahl & The White Russians. These fellas came in and served up a dangerously smooth concoction of what makes the Motor City the home of classic grooves. Especially dig their impromptu jam on their way out the door. These fellas do it right. See 'em live!
Guest for one segment of the show today: Bob Oliver, reporter for the Dearborn Times-Herald weekly newspaper.
Showing us just WHY Lydia Loveless KNEW she had to have these fellas raise the dead before she hit the stage at Callahans. Take the best of country, the best of rock, and the best of punk, ya got Rattletrap!
Power trio comes and rocks our socks with pop/rock featuring melodic vocals and amazing hooks.
Special mention: lead singer Gregory Beyer was touring bassist supporting homegrown hero Rodriguez on his last tour.
A day before dedicating their energies and time to Feed the Homeless at Trinity House in Livonia, Chris Degnore & The Black Drops give us a taste of what has made them successful on the indie circuit for many years now. Do listen.
Host David Twichell's guest is William Konkolesky, the State Director of the Michigan chapter of the Mutual UFO Network or MUFON. As such, he has been privy to several cases considered to be of "high strangeness". These are incidents that leave even the most hardened UFO investigators scratching their heads. Bill has been interviewed on countless radio shows and TV documentaries, too, including the Sci-Fi Channel’s “Abduction Diaries”. He is the author of “Experiencer: Raised in Two Worlds.”
Includes special interview with Todd Lassa, Executive Editor of Automobile Magazine (begins about 55 minutes in).
Jeremy Porter & The Tucos return to Studio J to promote their latest release, Partner In Crime. Some of these songs received their world debut this Thursday. More insight into the band. Did you know drummer Gabriel Doman engineered this release? Comfortable in EVERY facet of recording. Bassist Jason Bowes flexed his artistic strength designing the graphical layout of the cd case itself. Much respect to the guys. Give this podcast a listen.
As the weather just bottoms out here in Southeast Michigan, Motor Live Drive frontman DJ Scott Boatright takes this time to refresh listeners of some of the best songs by various bands that recently graced Studio J. As the temps rise and the freeways open up, look forward to more new music from Motor!
Up and coming new band Characteristics come in and show why they deserve everyone's attention from here on.
The Planet D Nonet is Detroit's award winning swing band. Unfortunately we booked them for one of the WORST days in Michigan's ongoing love affair with SNOW! By the time we got all ten guys in and situated we had unfortunately lost half of our show. Gracious guys guys that they are, RJ Spangler and company promised we hadn't seen the last of them here in Studio J.
