Liz Larin celebrates the release of Hurricane, her new CD, with an intimate sit-down with our own Scott Boatright. Catch up with Detroit's Goddess of Rock and hear great music. Harkening back to the earliest days of motor, sometimes an artist just needs to LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKING.
Lizerrd has taken many turns and changes along the way. From their early influences Jesus Lizard, as well as The Stooges, they thrash some serious hard core riffs. Traveling everywhere there's a stage, they're growing their name with a following that'll tell ya, these guys are for real!
These four young guys came into Studio J and answered the question: What Would Black Sabbath Sound Like If They Came From Hamtramck? If you never asked it before, don't worry. One listen to this and you'll forever know the answer. These guys have fun, are serious, and polite, too?!?! Wow. We wish nothing but the best to these guys. Look forward to their next album dropping soon, so we can get 'em back!
Psych, Indie, Garage, Marvels are ON IT!
Newly relocated to Lansing, Marvels make their way to Motor and showcase a wealth of talent and hits to come. Backed up by a deep-seated love & appreciation of artists such as Pavement, Marvels are reverb guitarist Ernest Klinger, bassist Jacob Hite, percussionist Virginia Everett, and lead vocalist/guitarist Matt Everett. These four mix up the writing and come up with solid tunes.

The Detroit Repertory Theater group is profiled--another great local non-profit cultural organization, of the many that we feature every 4th Tuesday at this time. They can make an IMPACT and you can, too, if you know about and support them.
Have a great three-day weekend, but pause (at least for this show) to remember the reasons for the national observance: for those that died serving our country and for those who are working to never again have war. So here are some thoughts on the subject (plus especially selected music!), some history about the day, and of course all the highlights of the news and events of the week in and around Dearborn, including details about Dearborn's 90th annual Memorial Day Parade (5-26, 10 AM to Noon, Michigan Avenue, from Greenfield Road to Schaefer).
These five young guys have a profound love for Prog Rock, Hardcore, and even Avant Jazz, and it comes together in a FANTASTIC way on this Motor! These fellas drive hard on their instrumentals, they even included one vocal track showcasing their wide-ranging songwriting skills. You'll hear hints of Yes, Dream Theatre, and be glad you tuned in.
Oakland county's first word on classic rock show off their Alice Cooper, Kiss Roots, along with generous helpings of alternative & R&B, and just have FUN on Motor. These guys have personality, and it's obvious in their music. Music will move you, between song banter will crack you up. What more d'ya need? Tune in.
