He was Event Coordinator for the SCI FI Channel’s ‘Alien Abduction Phenomenon: A Symposium, organized to promote the release of the Steven Spielberg miniseries ‘Taken,’ and from 2007 until 2010 was a consultant to the City of Roswell NM and coordinator of their annual UFO symposium. Aside from being great artists in the history of American music, they all share February 26 as their birthdays. Fats Domino (1928-2017), Bob "The Bear" Hite (Canned Heat 1943-1981) and Detroit's own Mitch Ryder (1945) are all important figures in the history of rock, rhythm & blues and frequently heard on WHFR's "Rollin' & Tumblin" program. Some of the shows were salvaged from squealy unplayable reel tapes sent to me recently. The oxide binder dries out in certain formulations of Ampex tape, but if you BAKE it at 175 degrees for a few hours, it becomes playable again for about 24 hours. It's being done by major record companies.
