Thanks To Everyone Who Stopped by the WHFR Tent at Dearborn Homecoming
It was great to see so many Loyal Listeners, WHFR Alumni, and new friends at the WHFR Tent this weekend at Dearborn Homecoming. We passed out lots of free pens, stickers and program guides. We sold lots of WHFR logo items. AND a BIG THANK YOU to all the people who bought our purged CDs. We had a great time at Homecoming and we hope you did too!

WHFR at 33rd Annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival Friday Aug 3 - Sunday Aug 5
It is that time of year again for fun, food, fireworks, and free WHFR pens and program guides at the the 33rd Annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival. WHFR will be at Homecoming with our FREE WHFR pens, program guides and bumper stickers, plus Logo items for sale along with our purged cd's for a $1 donation each or a bag for a $10 donation. WHFR will be broadcasting live from the festival from 11am - 8pm all three days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So make sure you stop by the WHFR tent for a free pen, bumper sticker, program guide and check out our purged CDs. "Theme Attic", the radio show that picks themes and plays music from a variety of genres about selected subjects, will feature songs that loosely focus on activities and experiences as well as a celebration of "home," as a kickoff to this weekend's Homecoming Festival! Tuesday FORUM, 7-31-12, 1-2 PM: Dearborn Heights News & Views
Host Ned Apigian, a Dearborn Heights councilperson, will separately interview four of the five candidates competing for election to the Michigan House representing the new District 11, which includes Dearborn Heights. Scheduled for this live broadcast are three of the four Democrats competing in the August 7 Primary: Cody Bailey, Bill Kaledas, and David Knezek, and the Republican candidate, Kathleen Kopczyk.

FOREVER PLAID featured on Big Band, Broadway, and Beyond Friday July 27
This week's featured Broadway musical is the 1990 off-Broadway musical revue FOREVER PLAID. This musical features The Plaids, a close-harmony guy group that was popular in the 1950s. This musical was made into a featue film in 2009 called FOREVER PLAID: THE MOVIE. So make sure you listen to Joe on Big Band, Broadway, and Beyond this Friday from 10am-1pm and every Friday with a different featured Broadway musical.
