Henry Ford Community College hosts its third annual "Alternative Energy Summit" 8:30am - 4pm, Friday, March 19 in the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services and Conference Center, main campus, 5101 Evergreen Road. The summit is free and open to the public.

"The Chieftains: San Patricio" -- Special St. Patrick's Day Programming 8pm, Wednesday, March 17

Tune in to hear the Chieftains' Paddy Maloney, Ry Cooder, Irish-American historian Peter F. Stevens and members of the Mexican-American band "Los Cenzontles" discuss the history of the San Patricio Battalion, the kinship between Irish and Mexican cultures, and how they relate to the music from the "San Patricio" album heard on this special.

Nick Roesler on "We Are Not Alone" -- 1pm, Tuesday, March 2

Nick Roesler, MUFON photographer and author of "In Focus: Photographic Evidence of Unconventional Flying Objects", is Host David Twichell's guest this month.

With today's photographic computer software, UFO hoaxes are easily created. However, in the right hands, that same software can detect those hoaxes.

Roesler discusses how an expert tells if a photo or video is a hoax, a misidentification, or genuine. He also talks about vintage photographs of UFOs, taken before the advent of computers, which have stood the test of time.

"Thirteenth Annual Homelessness Marathon" -- 7pm, Tuesday, February 23 through 9am, Wednesday, February 24

Tune in 7pm Tuesday, and stay with us through the night, until 9am Wednesday, as the 13th annual "Homelessness Marathon" comes to you from Cass Community Services.

Marathon founder, Jeremy Alderson, gives voice to Detroit's homeless as families, mothers, fathers, children, veterans, and others share their stories of homelessness with the world.

Senator Carl Levin is taking calls from homeless people at the site. Ron Gettlefinger and Detroit officials discuss Detroit's homelessness crisis. At least 13,000 to 14,000 homeless people are on the streets of Detroit at any given moment.

"Light From The Underground" Returns! -- 10am, Saturday, February 27

Bill Keith returns to WHFR next Saturday with his show "Light From The Underground." He'll feature singers and songwriters spanning a wide variety of genres including folk, rock, country, jazz, and even hip hop.

Join Bill alternating Saturdays at 10am with "Light From The Underground."

Remember Tom Mallia keeps the bus traveling down "The Lost Highway" on the 'other' Saturdays. Tune in and you'll hear "anything with a twang!"
