What is eight sessions of two hours and can prepare you to join our volunteer staff and maybe even host a show of your own for a truly unique noncommercial FM radio and internet station?

t’s the “WHFR Staff Training Class,” of course, offered every Fall, Winter, and Spring semester at Henry Ford College. For academic credit, enroll in TCM 189, one hour credit, no prerequisite. For an identical experience, but non-credit (Pass or Fail), contact HFC’s M-TECH program to enroll in “Radio Station Workshop.”

In the class, you''ll learn about the station and FCC rules and procedures, equipment operation, basic performance skills, and much more. Either for credit or non-credit, the basic class itself costs the same as one hour of academic credit, and the content and meeting times are the same: Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:20 PM, or Thursday afternoons from 1:10 to 3:00 PM--for eight weeks during the Fall and Winter semesters (seven during Spring).

For more course information, check out the HFCC website (www.hfcc.edu) or contact our General Manager, Susan McGraw at 313-845-9842, or via e-mail: whfr-gm@hfcc.edu. For non-credit M-TEC enrollment information, call 313-317-6600.

Did you ever listen to a DJ, talk show host, or newsperson on the radio say to yourself, "Boy, I''d like to do that someday!"? That day might be today!
