So, what IS the "lame duck" session in Lansing actually doing? Helping schools? Protecting the environment? Fixing roads? 15th District (mostly just the Dearborn area) Representative George Darany comes by for a live in-studio interview, when we'll ask for a legislative update--with explanations or rationales, as needed.

How exactly did the local election races turn out? And why? CRAIG FARRAND, columnist for the Dearborn Press & Guide, joins hosts John and Jay for our unique roundup of the results and analysis about the votes in our local area that you won't hear elsewhere. But first, we'll talk to HFC Theatre area head GEORGE POPOVICH about the currently running production: Dinosaurus!, a Virtual Reality experience--live action and computer-generated action (including a 20 ft tall Tyrannosaurus Rex).

In the first half hour, an interview with Tony Guerrero, candidate for 19th District Court judge.

Continuing our effort to inform you about the choices you need to make in the Nov. 4th election, we first interview Dearborn Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston about the "Hold Harmless" millage renewal proposal, and then speak with Debbie Dingell, Democratic candidate to represent the 12th District to the U.S. Congress. No sound bites allowed, and no attacks on other candidates!

Challengers, not incumbents--WHFR continues its quest to reveal what the other stations don't: all the choices you really have as a voter in the Nov. 4th election. The Green Party candidate for Governor, Paul Homeniuk, discusses the Ten Pillars of the Green Party Platform (more than just 'tree-hugging'!), as well as why voting for someone other than a Democrat or Republican makes sense.

Here are two more candidate interviews--with challengers not incumbents--before the Nov. 4th election. Today, they have been prerecorded, but certainty still give insights not possible with "sound bites" allowed by other media.

Continuing our series of interviews with political candidates in the Nov. 4th election--with challengers rather than incumbents--we will be talking today with Terry Bowman, Republican challenger for the U.S. Congress, 12th district (crazily gerrymandered to run from Ann Arbor through some of Dearborn and on down to Trenton). Note: we are giving candidates for Governor about 30 minutes each and others about 15 minutes--no 10-second sound bites!

WHFR-FM begins the election season with an interview with Mary Buzuma, Libertarian, running for Governor of Michigan. No sound bites here--we'll spend a full 30 minutes exploring her views (unlike how most other media seem to deny the existence of legal candidates). In upcoming weeks before the Nov. 4th election, we'll focus on the challengers not the incumbents, so you can make the best choices with your votes.

Fall semester has begun at Henry Ford College, and we talk to President Jensen about all that is going on: enrollment, programs, budget/tuition, and student successes.

Have a great three-day weekend, but pause (at least for this show) to remember the reasons for the national observance: for those that died serving our country and for those who are working to never again have war. So here are some thoughts on the subject (plus especially selected music!), some history about the day, and of course all the highlights of the news and events of the week in and around Dearborn, including details about Dearborn's 90th annual Memorial Day Parade (5-26, 10 AM to Noon, Michigan Avenue, from Greenfield Road to Schaefer).
