The legendary, powerhouse drummer, Ginger Baker passed away at the age of 80 this past weekend. His eclectic approach to music, covering many styles of music, was heard in groups ranging from Alexis Korner's R & B to the supergroups Cream and Blind Faith, Baker's Air Force, his Ginger Baker Jazz Trio and many others.

College Radio Day themed broadcast will air in place of WHFR Journal this Friday
As a part of WHFR's participation in College Radio day 2019, WHFR will be airing special programming themed around college radio. This will be aired at 1 PM October 4th, in place of the WHFR Journal.

WHFR along with 485 other college radio stations will be participating in College Radio Day events themed around "Hear it first on college radio." Impact!- Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center
The Kids-Talk Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is a community-based program that serves children through 17 years of age, providing comprehensive treatment to suspected child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, or other forms of psychological trauma. The Kid's-Talk CAC utilizes a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to coordinate the investigation, assessment, treatment, and prevention of child abuse in Wayne County.
