WHFR PRESENTS: THE MUSIC OF YUSEF LATEEF PART THREE

YUSEF LATEEF

WHFR PRESENTS continues with part three of THE MUSIC OF YUSEF LATEEF as his career rolls through the 1960s with recordings from the catalogs of Impulse and Atlantic Records. Living, performing, studying and teaching in New York City, Yusef would further his musical relationships with Detroiters Roy Brooks and Hugh Lawson as well as new collaborators in New York such as Reggie Workman and Cecil McBee. He would further his explorations of music and musical instruments from around the world and incorporate them into his unique approach to jazz.

The series will continue in weeks to come with programs every Sunday on WHFR PRESENTS airing from 4-7pm EST. With the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, there will be no repeat broadcast this week, at this time.
