Join us for the WHFR Journal, our news, views, and community service program tomorrow -- Friday, October 24 -- at 1pm as we share stories of hope, encouragement, and support with a special PRX program from Boom Goddess Radio: Since 1985, October has been deemed Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Guests include Elaine Kennedy, a breast cancer survivor, and Dolly Quinn, a local entrepreneur who owns a salon and spa for breast cancer patients to help make them feel better. Also on the program With Good Reason from PRX, we discuss the red colobus monkey, one of the most endangered primates in the world with Josh Linder, who has devoted his career to studying and conserving these peaceful primates. Plus: Francesco Ferretti (Virginia Tech) led an expedition to be the first to ever tag endangered great white sharks in the Mediterranean. While they didn’t end up tagging any sharks, they uncovered new evidence of great white activity in the water. Tune in for these exciting stories only on the WHFR Journal.
