WHFR DJ SPOTLIGHT SERIES: Bob Burnham of RADIO VAULT and SUNDAY NIGHT MYSTERIES

WHFR is pleased to feature a new WHFR DJ Spotlight Series for our home page so our DJs can stay connected with you while we're temporarily away from the Studio A chair. You might find music reviews, suggestions for staying active, backstories about how we got into the radio business, and some nice comments to help us all stay connected. Enjoy!

The concept of RADIO VAULT on Tuesdays at 3:00 is not new. The whole approach, however, is somewhat unique. The current incarnation of the show began on WHFR about 3 years ago. Radio Vault is never scripted. The idea, however, is that it is a HOSTED show, meaning we don't just play the old recordings -- we TALK about them -- even if it's just to announce the original broadcast date. Radio Vault is also not a nostalgia show, per se, but we do respect the historical significance, all while using the latest digital technology to make the audio as clear as possible.

WHFR DJ Spotlight Series: Anderson Coleman of BLUES WITH A FEELING

WHFR is pleased to feature a new WHFR DJ Spotlight Series for our home page so our DJs can stay connected with you while we're temporarily away from the Studio A chair. You might find music reviews, suggestions for staying active, backstories about how we got into the radio business, and some nice comments to help us all stay connected. Enjoy!

BLUES WITH A FEELING is a lot different from most blues programs, it makes a difference at WHFR.FM. The arrival of this high-quality sound has encouraged listeners to delve into their vaults and find vintage blues that have been languishing for years.

I am Anderson Coleman. I produce and host the program BLUES WITH A FEELING. These blues are an embodiment of expressing one’s deepest feelings.

WHFR Classical 24 Programming for Next 3 Weeks During Stay Home, Stay Safe Michigan Executive Order

WHFR has been in trying to stay business as usual during the COVID-19 Pandemic but we have to put the healthy and safety of our WHFR volunteer staff first. Once Gov. Whitmer issued the Michigan-wide “Sheter-In-Place” order, WHFR and Henry Ford College made the decision to have all of our volunteers to stay at home and have our Classical 24 service run 24/7 for the next three weeks. We hope we will be able to back to live local programming after April 13. Enjoy the classical music and thanks for supporting WHFR.

WHFR is Business As Usual (Mostly) During Current Era of Working From Home, School Closures and Fear of COVID-19

WHFR has a commitment to serve the Dearborn-Detroit community providing music and talk shows that are an alternative to other broadcasters on the radio dial. We will continue this commitment to providing live and local programming while making sure the station is still safe for our volunteers. Many of our shows will be business and usual and you will not notice much of a difference from our programming. BUT, there might be times you will hear Classical 24 when a live DJ is on, another DJ filling in, or a pre-recorded show. WHFR is keeping the station clean and safe for the staff members/volunteers who are well but some of our staff may elect to err on the side of caution and stay home. We want to be an alternative to what all the other broadcasters are playing. Thanks for listening to WHFR and for supporting noncommercial education radio.

Instead of interviewing some expert in Ufology, I thought it only fair to get the perspective of the layman for once. Jennifer Stewart is an instructor at Henry Ford College. She teaches sign language to the deaf and hard of hearing. Outside of her chosen career, she finds the UFO topic of great interest. Studies have shown that the higher the education level of the individual, the more apt they are to accept the fact that we are being visited by a more advanced race of beings.
