WHFR's 30th Anniversary Gala!
Just when you think RJ Spangler has fronted nearly every combination of band from trio to nonet, and every music genre from swing to jazz, he comes up with yet another approach to spotlighting some awesome music and musicians that deserve wider recognition. On Saturday, April 18, 2015, the Detroit music activist is bringing his latest creation, the Kansas City Six, to Park Place Banquet Hall in Dearborn to focus on the songs of the great blues shouters of the American southwest—and to help raise needed funds for WHFR. The opening performance will be by the Brazil and Beyond Guitar Trio.
Great music (and dancing!) are combined with a full dinner buffet, with several entrees and desserts as well as an open bar, all to support our unique cultural resource—WHFR--30 years old “and just getting started.”
Tickets are available now by ordering through the WHFR website: www.whfr.fm, and are priced at $50 per person. The event will begin at 6 PM and continue to 11 PM. All ages may attend.
